Lennox Clarke plans to prove the fear factor

Halesowen's Lennox Clarke is just glad to have an opponent for his shot at the British Masters Bronze super middleweight title.

Clarke steps through the ropes in the Stadium Suite at the Banks's Stadium on Saturday February 21, with the contest scheduled for eight rounds.

The card had to be announced just before Christmas without him paired for his title tussle, such is the fearsome reputation he's building up.

The former white collar fighter has scored three stoppages from six straight wins, including a stunning 14 second knockout of Raimonds Sniedze.

But Dan Blackwell, brother of former English middleweight champion and British title challenger Nick, stepped up to the plate in the New Year.

While the Wiltshire scrapper has only won six out of 46 professional contests, he's only ever been stopped once, so Clarke will literally have to smash through him.

And the 23-year-old is happy to do just that, as he's of the opinion bravado will prove his opponent's undoing when they battle for the belt.

He said: "It's time to step up and I'm looking forward to it. It's becoming a problem finding opponents, to be honest. At the moment, they don't want to fight me.

"Dan is game enough and comes to have a row, which is good for me because he's going to walk onto things. At the end of the night, I will be the winner.

"You're going to see a good win, in good style. Whether it's by points or stoppage, I'm not worried."
