The 22-year-old super middleweight is in line to quadruple his paid experience, having competed in just one pro contest.

'Danger' outpointed Stourbridge's Kevin McCauley at Walsall Town Hall in May, but will be hitting the road next month.

He's first booked to take on debutant Jack Goode, in front of the BoxNation cameras, at the Barnsley Metrodome on September 5.

He's also been paired with Mike Byles, for the Channel 5 televised bill at Sheffield's Ponds Forge Arena on September 20.

He's then headed to Bedworth Civic Hall a week later to compete against an as yet unnamed opponent, with a new team in his corner.

Gelder has left his amateur club, Priory Park, to train under former England boxer and senior ABA national finalist Jimmy Gould.

They are using the G2 Fitness Centre in Coseley as a base to prepare for fight dates arranged by new manager Mark Wall.

Gelder said: "I am looking to get busy and want to be fighting most weeks, earning good money and causing a lot of upsets.

"It's time to get myself in to top condition, I'm training twice a day with Jimmy and he was a Midlands champion as a pro, too.

"The lad for Barnsley was a top amateur, Mike is boxing for a title on that bill before he fights me and Bedworth will be a step into the unknown!"
