Last change to register for BDO play-off

Darters must register to take part in a play-off offering places at the BDO'S next major tournament by the end of today.

Six places, four for men and two for ladies, will be up-for-grabs at Wolverhampton Sports Arena on Saturday May 7.

Those who qualify will then be a part of the World Trophy, which will take place this year at the iconic Lakeside.

The home of the World Championship will also host the 2016 Trophy, after the event was moved from Event City in Manchester.

The Arena are expecting up to 500 hopefuls to try their luck in the play-off, including former BDO world champion Ted Hankey.

Venue manager Dharam Jagpal said: "This will be our most prestigious event to date.

"It reinforces our position as one of the country's top competitive darts venues. This is a massive boost to Wolverhampton."

Today is the last day for registration, which can be done online through bdodarts.com. Entry is £20.

On the day, registration closes at 11am, with play began at 12pm. The Trophy will take place from May 28-30.
