Walsall this afternoon won their appeal against Andy Butler’s red card at Leyton Orient last Saturday.
It means the Saddlers skipper will no longer serve a three game ban, following the FA’s decision to overturn referee Graham Scott’s original decision.
Scott showed Butler a straight red card following a 17th minute challenge with Orient midfielder Romain Vincelot.
But Saddlers boss Dean Smith was adamant the tackle was fair and the club’s decision to appeal has been vindicated by this afternoon’s decision.
Despite playing for most of the game with ten men, Walsall managed to secure a 1-1 draw at Brisbane Road, becoming the first team to take points off the League One leaders this season.
