Romaine Sawyers today said he’s happy to remain Walsall’s ‘Mr Versatile’ as he makes his case for a regular starting place.
The 21-year-old forward is in contention for Saturday’s trip to Brentford after notching his first senior goal in the 1-1 draw with Notts County.
Sawyers has been employed in a number of different roles this season. The former Albion youngster admits his favourite position is behind the strikers but says he is happy to play anywhere Smith tells him.
“Personally I feel my best position is just behind the strikers,” he said. “But if the gaffer asks me to do something else, then I’m more than happy to do that, if it’s for the team. It’s good to finally get a league goal in terms of my whole career.”
