Striker Ben Haseley netted the goal as his side dominated the first-half.

Rangers manager Neil Kitching said: "It's a big victory as it was one of those games that I thought would be tricky.

"We were big, strong, robust and difficult to score or shoot against. It was not the prettiest, but it was comfortable."

Rangers started on the front foot and after 11 minutes Matt Wood beat his man before cutting inside for Levi Rowley, whose low shot was turned around the post by goalkeeper Danny Haystead.

The visitors broke the deadlock after 26 minutes when Peter Till crossed to Rowley. His header was saved, but marksman Haseley was on hand to tap the ball home.

The second-half saw Kitching's side shut up shop, although the Nailers had a big chance when Phil Watt headed over from eight yards.
