The newly-launched team will initially be managed by Football Development Director Colin Gordon for their inaugural season.

He said: "We have some fantastic talent already coming through the system here and this is designed to help aid that even further.

"To start with we'll be playing friendlies against equivalents from local sides at a higher level around the region, the likes of Birmingham and West Bromwich Albion – even Bournemouth have been in touch about the possibility of arranging a fixture.

"It's about having a group that is ready to challenge for the first team; as I've mentioned, the talent is already there and this is just a chance to give young lads more game knowledge to prepare them for competitive football at National League level."

Colin, who will take a young Harriers side to Evesham on Saturday for the Worcestershire Senior Cup match (11am ko), will be assisted by academy coach Scott Mason.
