Colin Gordon's team looked set to have their relegation confirmed after trailing to an early shot on the turn from Kadell Daniel with only eight minutes remaining.

Kelvin Langmead, moved up to a striking role as a target man just 10 minutes from time, headed home from close range.

On 85 minutes, James McQuilkin converted Ben Whitfield's right-wing centre to turn the game.

The win leaves Harriers 11 points adrift of safety with 12 points to play for and only three behind Welling who have played a game more.

Interim manager Gordon was delighted with the performance: "After the first 10 or 15 minutes, we were magnificent and just passed the ball around them.

"I was so pleased with everybody who contributed today. Those boys deserved to get something out of the game because they were fantastic."

However, Gordon was mindful of Harriers' poor start, adding: "There is a fear and we don't know how to approach the opening 15 minutes."

Harriers actually started brightly, Elton Ngwatala cutting in from the right to send an angled left-footed drive narrowly wide of Marek Rodak's right-hand post.

The Wings went ahead after seven minutes. Ian Gayle sent a deep cross from the right that Reece Harris headed into the path of Aeoye Yusuff. His effort was blocked and Daniel pounced on the rebound.

Kevin Lokko should have doubled the advantage but sent his header over the bar.

Harriers, although enjoying plenty of possession, struggled to break down the home defence, until Lewis Kinsella delivered a cross that Ben Whitfield headed narrowly wide.

The visitors continued to press for an equaliser and it nearly came on 37 minutes. McQuilkin unleashed a drive that Marek Rodak half-parried, recovering the ball behind him before it could cross the line.

Harriers continued the offensive and, with eight minutes left, made the game level.

Good build-up play down the Harriers right between Tyrone Williams and McQuilkin released Omari Patrick to run at the defence and hit a low drive that Rodak could only push out.

Langmead bravely dived in to head the ball over the goalkeeper. A draw would still have relegated Harriers, but then Ngwatala and Fane sent Whitfield clear on the right.

He rounded Joey Taylor to send in a low cross for McQuilkin to send the Harriers fans into a frenzy.
