The 29-year-old scored 37 goals in 117 appearances for Harriers between 2007 and January 2010, when he was sold to Luton Town.

Barnes-Homer is yet to score in 15 appearances for Aldershot this term, but will provide head coach Dave Hockaday with a welcome attacking option.

His return comes hours after the exit of Reece Styche, as expected, to National League rivals Macclesfield Town on loan until January.

The 26-year-old is the club's joint top scorer with four goals this term but also one of its top earners and has been moved on to free up funds.

Barnes-Homer was among the top forwards in the Conference during his first spell with Harriers but his career of late has been nomadic, taking in six different clubs during the past three seasons.

He will hope a return to Aggborough will help rediscover his goal-scoring touch, while helping Harriers, who sit bottom of the National League Premier, climb the table.

"I have some good memories here and I hope to continue those," said Barnes-Homer.

"The fans were great to me when I was here and even when I have been back with different teams they have been great to me.

"I will be happy to get out there and get them cheering again."

Barnes-Homer was not the only addition to Harriers ranks, as the club have also confirmed the capture of Bosnian midfielder Fazlic on a short-term deal.

The 23-year-old spent nine months at Fulham last season but did not make a first-team appearance before moving to Croatian outfit NK Zadar.

Both players are available for tomorrow's home game with Woking.
