A free-kick from Connor Clifford 14 minutes from time denied Kidderminster Harriers their first win of the season and earned Boreham Wood a point.

Zaine Francis-Angol, making his first start for the club, endeared himself to the home supporters.

He stooped low to glance a Joe Clarke corner across goalkeeper James Russell into the bottom left hand corner of the net on eight minutes.

Tahvon Campbell should have extended the home side's lead just three minutes later.

He intercepted a poor back pass by Scott Doe, but Russell denied the youngster when he blocked with his left foot.

Just two minutes before the break Boreham Wood were again indebted to their keeper as Russell dived full length to turn aside Tahvon Campbell's shot on the turn.

Harriers' frailties in recent weeks has been their second-half performance and so it proved to be their Achilles heel again as the visitors pressed strongly from the off.

Clifford, Ricky Shakes and Jamie Lucas all went close as Harriers retreated in numbers.

Calvin Dinsley lost possession in the centre of the field and Clarke was forced to upend Clifford, as the visitors countered in numbers.

Clifford dusted himself down whilst Clarke received a caution for the challenge.

He set himself for a strike from fully 35 yards which screamed over the wall and dipped, before hitting the bottom right hand corner of the net.

Junior Morias hit the base of an upright from 18 yards, before Harriers provided a rousing finale only to find Russell in no mood to be beaten.
