Stafford Rangers boss Neil Kitching has called for his side to continue to use their improved mentality as they look to stretch their lead at the top of the table.

Boro welcome Sheffield FC to Marston Road in what is a rescheduled Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South, as both clubs are already out of FA Cup action this season.

And, after Tuesday night's hard-fought win at Black Country side Tividale, Kitching is hoping for more of the same tomorrow.

He said: "I was pleased to get through Tividale unscathed but also with all three points. Last year we were rolled over 4-0 there because we weren't mentally tough enough.

"This year we went there on a Tuesday night and got a scruffy 1-0 win without playing very well. Nothing is being taken for granted yet. We have had a decent start but that is it."

The Marston Road boss assessed the fitness of centre-backs Leon Miles and Tom Morris at training last night. Both have had knocks recently.

One will be selected to partner Wayne Daniel, who played his 400th and 401st games for the club this week.

Kitching added: "Sheffield will be tough opposition. They're eighth after a decent start and got a good league win on Tuesday night against Lincoln.

"But with them in the league while everyone else is playing in the Cup and Goole coming the following Saturday – it is a chance for us to put daylight between ourselves and the rest.

"We've been playing well and winning in the main, hopefully that entices supporters."
