Manager Gary Whild believes his young Kidderminster Harriers team can find their best form - once they become a little streetwise.

Harriers have made nine summer signings as they draft in new personnel to replace high-profile departures, following a season of financial instability.

And, after an opening-day draw with Grimsby Town, they have lost three in a row in the National League.

Whild said: "We've got some young lads and are maybe paying for that lack of experience, but that's the state of the market we are in.

"However, they will gain that experience and they have the qualities necessary to do well when they become more streetwise."

A tough run of early fixtures does not get any easier for Kidderminster, who travel to Gateshead tomorrow (3pm).

Striker Reece Styche, sent off against Wrexham, will miss the game at the Tynesiders, who have won three of their first four matches of the campaign.

Whild – whose side have also visited Dover and Guiseley among their opening four fixtures – said: "When we saw the fixtures come out, it didn't take a fool to realise it was a difficult start.

"But we can take a lot of heart from our performances and get some confidence and, hopefully, that rub of the green we haven't had so far."
