Alex Hall's first-half goal was enough to edge brave Wolverhampton Casuals out of the FA Cup at the extra preliminary round stage.

Bridgnorth's Karl Griffiths twice had great chances to put the hosts in front but was denied by Casuals keeper Liam Stanton.

Casuals' first chance came in the 25th minute but Jay Holdcott fired a great cross from Ashley Evans over the bar from six yards.

They were quickly as Hall put Bridgnorth in front heading in a cross from Nick Haynes to score what turned out to be the game's only goal.

Casuals went close with an equaliser as John Huckfield forced a great save from Chris Crook.

The home side attacked again on 55 minutes and Armstrong with Stanton beaten. Ryan Bradshaw lashed the rebound into the net but his effort was ruled out for offside.

In the final minute, Bradshaw went clear on goal but hit the bar with the rebound falling to Stanton.

Wolverhampton Casuals' Jordan Uppal takes on Bridgnorth's Pip Hurdley.

Ricky Anslow was the two-goal hero as AFC Wulfrunians progressed with a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Wulfs now have a home tie against Romulus a week on Saturday. The game burst into life as Wulfs took the lead in the 26th minute with their first bit of decent football.

The ball was worked out wide to Richard Palmer and his cross was helped on by Craig Gregg to Anslow and he forced his way through a couple of challenges, before prodding the ball home from close range.

Southam's only real first-half offering came when Jack Brighton won possession 25 yards out and fired a low shot straight at goalkeeper Danny Tipton.

Wulfs came out firing at the start of the second half and went close within a minute of the restart, when Gregg released Anslow but his low shot cannoned back off the inside of the post.

Two minutes later Gregg put Mark Ganderton in the clear, but Saints goalkeeper Tom Cross produced a good save to keep him out. The decisive second goal finally arrived in the 63rd minute.

Jamie King received the ball back from a short throw on the left and produced a superb first time cross which Anslow converted on the half-volley at the far post.

Sporting Khalsa eased past Malvern Town 5-0 in a one-sided tie. Khalsa dominated from the outset and the home side only had a single effort deep into the second half to show for their day.

Craig Bannister, on as an early substitute for injured skipper Lee Wherton, curled a magnificent shot in from the edge of the area to open the scoring on the half-hour.

Meese doubled the lead six minutes later, slotting home after brilliant work down the right by Mensah Kinch.

Just before half-time, Kinch controlled the ball on his chest 25 yards out and rifled a low shot into the bottom right-hand corner.

Khalsa continued to press after the break. Tes Robinson made it four on 58 minutes, heading home from close range after a Meese flick on from a Jackson corner.

Perhaps the best of the five goals came with 15 minutes remaining, Bannister racing from half-way and calmly whipping the ball over Weaver and into the back of the net.

Tipton Town suffered their third defeat of the new season and exited in disappointing fashion.

A sluggish start was deservedly punished in the opening 90 seconds, when lack of concentration allowed Josh Harris-James to put the visitors ahead with a smart reverse shot

Morgan was forced into heroics time and again to prevent further first half goals, but Tipton had chances in the second half through Jordan McGovern and Marvin Whitter.

Cadbury settled the tie 15 minutes from time. A finely constructed counter-attack saw Ryan Spink drive the ball home.

The tie at Hinckley was always a potential a banana skin for Walsall Wood and so it nearly proved.

But they played out a scoreless draw to bring the Leicestershire side back to Oak Park for a replay tomorrow night, with a visit to Bromsgrove awaiting the winners.

The home side lost Liam Smith on 35 minutes to a red card for hauling down Joey Butlin in the centre of the box.

But goalkeeper Sam Arnold saved Butlin's penalty kick and the 10 men comfortably survived for a further 55 minutes.

The first danger to the Wood goal came on 61 minutes. From a left-wing corner, Mario Kisiel punched the ball 25 yards out but only to Neil Mackenzie whose first time effort was just wide.

Although Corey Currithers came close with a drive that was saved, Wood's defence was the busier late on and Kisiel had to make a save at full stretch from a Nathan Walker free-kick.

A young Heath Hayes side made their exit when they were beaten 3-0 at Alvechurch.

Hayes had a penalty controversially awarded against them after seven minutes and Leigh Downing despatched the kick.

The visitors did well against a more experienced and mature Alvechurch side but were 2-0 down at half-time, after Nigel Penny netted.

A crisp finish by Josh March two minutes into the second period made the game safe for the home side.
