Harriers boss hails travelling support

Kidderminster Harriers boss Steve Burr today urged fans to raise the roof every time they hit the road after they made themselves heard at Forest Green Rovers.

Harriers’ travelling support were in fine voice at the New Lawn on Sunday, with nearly 450 fans making the trip to Gloucestershire.

On the pitch, the team hung in there and chased the game after Yan Klukowski’s first-half goal, which looked to have won it for Rovers.

But it was the away fans that left happier after Jamille Matt’s stoppage time equaliser, earning Harriers a point in their 10th game unbeaten.

Burr’s men are now breathing down the necks of York, who occupy the last play-off spot on goal difference, ahead of the first Saturday of 2012.

Harriers are at home to Hayes & Yeading but, when they travel to Gateshead next Tuesday night, the manager wants the away support to bring the noise again.

He said: “The following we got from the fans behind the goal and in the ground was fantastic – we could do with that every game away from home!

“It helps, the fans got right behind the lads and they got their reward.”
