Kidderminster Harriers could get Sheffield Wednesday in FA Youth Cup
Tuesday 1st November 2011, 8:45AM GMT.
Kidderminster Harriers could land a plum home tie with Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Youth Cup if they can make it past the first round proper.
Harriers host Brighouse at Aggborough tomorrow night after coming three qualifying rounds, all at home, so far.
And Jerry Gill’s fledglings will host a second round tie if they go through which will definitely be against a League One club, either Carlisle or Sheffield Wednesday, who play tonight.
That would represent progress for the club’s academy, which was only formed in the summer, launched in conjunction with Stourbridge College.
Gill said: “We talk about results not being all-important in youth football but, tomorrow, it’s important. We have come a long way to reach this stage, so they deserve to go on.”
