Jimenez was forced to undergo surgery for a fractured skull following a sickening clash of heads with David Luiz last month.

Fans of Wolves clubbed together to fund a banner, which has now been put in place in the Steve Bull Stand at Molineux, with spare proceeds being donated to charity.

Before kick off, a plane flew overhead at the ground sharing a message of support for the Mexican international. The message read "Get well soon Wolves Ay We".

Jimenez tweeted his thanks to fans and the club for their support, sharing a video of the banner in place.

"Amazing! I am very grateful to all the people who have been supporting me during this process. To my fans, to my teammates, to all who have sent their love, it means everything to me and my family. Thank you very much!" he Tweeted.

Jimenez was back home with family this week, and also made a visit to Wolves' training ground ahead of the derby clash.

There is currently no timescale being placed on his return, although quotes from his father suggested that he would have no lasting consequences from the injury and a return to physical would be a 'matter of time'.
