Bully: Wolves trip to Shrewsbury Town was bound to happen

Wolves now know they will head to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup – and it is a tie that was destined to happen.

With Town having Dave Edwards back, and Sam Ricketts in charge, it just seemed set up for us to take on two of our League One-winning squad from 2013/14.

Fair play to Ricketts as well, for overseeing such a great comeback to beat Stoke 3-2 in the third-round replay.

They displayed tremendous character to come out on top, and I have no doubt they will come out all guns blazing – pull out all the stops – to try to record another famous win at the expense of Nuno’s team.

But Nuno showed against Liverpool he is treating the competition very seriously as well.

He has got a little bit of an idea of what he is facing as they played Shrewsbury in a friendly before the start of last season.

There have been changes to both sides since of course, but Town were very physical that day and won 2-0, so Nuno will be looking to stand up to the test and then let their football do the talking.

If Wolves apply themselves correctly, they should come out on top.

One player who will not be involved in the game is Willy Boly as he was sent off in Monday’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester City.

I have watched the incident back several times, and his one foot went over the top – not two.

And, for me, it was a yellow card. Boly is not a nasty, dirty player, at all.

I can’t really understand why he had the rush of blood there, but I thought it should have been a booking instead of a straight red.

In the end, City did not blow us away and, even with 10 men, I thought we played some decent football.

Leander Dendoncker looked comfortable at the back, to be fair, and he has the chance now, it seems, to impress in the absence of Boly.

The defensive three which has been so solid for us so far this campaign has been disrupted though, so it will be interesting to see how we adjust.
