Just three weeks after winning promotion to the top flight, Slaven Bilic has ordered his squad to report to their Walsall training base on Monday.

When they return, they will be greeted by coronavirus testers to ensure they haven’t picked up Covid-19 during their time away.

Following one of the longest campaigns in history, a host of Baggies players have tried to get away over the past few weeks to recharge the batteries.

But all those who jetted off travelled to destinations that were safe to go to without the need to quarantine for 14 days on their return.

That means every player is available to train on Monday.

Among the best pictures posted on social media was a snap of Matheus Pereira, who jetted out to Croatia to visit Filip Krovinvoic.

Pereira – who initially moved to The Hawthorns on loan from Sportling Lisbon – will soon be announced as a permanent Albion player.

And he will be hoping that he will again team up with his close pal Krovinvoic – with the Baggies in talks with Benfica to re-sign the midfielder either on loan again or in a permanent deal. Kamil Grosicki, Semi Ajayi and Conor Townsend are among the other Albion players who got away to enjoy some sun.
