Nacer Chadli returns to full training as Darren Moore takes first session as West Brom caretaker

The Belgian playmaker, who has only played 16 minutes for Albion since October, made the return as caretaker boss Darren Moore took charge of his first training session.

Chadli has been sidelined for the majority of the season after injuring his thigh last year.

He returned to action at the Bet365 Stadium in December but after coming off the bench, suffered a recurrence of his thigh injury 16 minutes later.

He is now expected to be available for selection for this weekend’s clash with Swansea City at The Hawthorns.

Today was Moore’s first training session as caretaker boss after the 43-year-old agreed to fill in for the rest of the season following Alan Pardew’s exit.

Pardew left the club by mutual consent yesterday, and his assistant John Carver also departed.

Moore will become the fourth man to take charge of the Baggies this season, following Tony Pulis, Gary Megson, and Pardew.

Elsewhere, 20-year-old midfielder Kyle Edwards has returned to the Midlands from his loan spell at Exeter City in order to receive treatment on his knee.

Edwards is on loan at the League Two club with fellow young Baggie Kane Wilson.

Grecians boss Paul Tisdale told DevonLive: “Kyle Edwards, we’ll be speaking to West Brom as he’s gone back for treatment for a week or two – we’re hoping he’ll be around.

“Kyle had a sore knee around two months ago, we’ve managed it, he had an injection and he came back but it hasn’t really cleared up, so he’s gone back to West Brom for a couple of weeks as he’s been playing with pain and it’s getting worse again.”
