After knocking out non-league step five side Worcester City in the second qualifying round the Boro were again triumphant in the cup at Buxton.

Fellow Northern Premier division side Buxton had their share of pressure in the first half and a long free-kick by goalkeeper Tommy Taylor found Reece King whose header just flew off-target.

However, a game of few chances always looked destined for penalties and Rangers looked the most prepared from the penalty spot.

The Boro were triumphant 4-2 in the penalty-shootout picking up a prize pot of £3,375 and a place in the third qualifying round.

The third qualifying round is due to be a mid-week tie with a prize pot of £5,625 for the victors.
