The opening exchanges were end-to-end as both sides created early opportunities, with Chris Wreh going close for The Pics.

In what was a lively affair, we took the lead on the half-hour mark when Danny Waldron was brought down inside the area and Sam Whittall stepped up to find the net from the spot.

Whittall had his second goal just two minutes later as he turned well before getting in a strike that dipped into the net.

It was a quick-fire double which certainly put a spring in our step as Jonathan Letford set up Alex Moore who almost extended our lead just before the break.

The early action of the second period saw Cook go close with a low drive before a neat move ended with Moore going close.

The home side were handed a lifeline from the penalty spot on the hour-mark as Robert Eagle found the net and it signaled a spell f pressure from the home side as Jon Flatt did well on a couple of occasions to thwart them.

A header from Whittall went close before a goal-bound effort from Levi Rowley was blocked.

The home side forced home an equaliser with seven minutes to go as Zak Brown got the final touch to make it 2-2.

There was still time right at the death for Lee Smith to head over from a good position for The Pics as we took a share of the spoils.
