Pitmen play out six-goal thriller

Hednesford Town shared the spoils after a six-goal thriller with Peterborough Sports at Keys Park.

The Pitmen went a goal down after half an hour before Danny Glover got them level five minutes later in the Southern Premier Central clash. Dan Sweeney gave Hednesford the lead before half-time before Sports got back on level terms 10 minutes after the break.

Hednesford were again ahead on 65 minutes with Glover finding the net with another low drive. However, the lead lasted just 11 minutes before the visitors struck for a share of the points.

In the same league, managerless Stourbridge went down 3-1 at Royston Town. The Glassboys were ahead at the break through striker Andre Landell .

However, the Hertfordshire side came roaring back to seal the points with three second-half goals.

Chasetown went down 2-1 at home to Newcastle Town in the Nothern Premier south-east division. The Scholars had taken the lead through George Cater but goals either side of half-time secured the points for the north Staffordshire side.

Sporting Khalsa beat Wolverhampton Casuals 5-4 on penalties in the quarter-final of the Walsall Senior Cup.
