Halesowen Town's Lee Hughes praised for No.9 Derby performance

Halesowen Town boss John Hill has heaped praise on Lee Hughes after the former Albion striker rolled back the years in the No.9 Derby victory against Stourbridge.

Hughes, 41, put in a relentless shift as the Yeltz ran out 1-0 winners, completing a league double over their fierce rivals.

“He’s worked hard and done all of that as the lone striker,” said Hill.

"He’s still putting that kind of shift in, which is a credit to him.”

Hughes said: "At my age, some supporters might be thinking ‘do we want him here?’

"But I’m putting 100 per cent in on the pitch. The win was massive."
