Slade previously held the records for most aggregate runs in a season (1,407) and most centuries in a season (seven) – both in 1978.

But Kiwi George Worker struck 145 for Knowle & Dorridge against Walsall on Saturday to surpass both of those feats – taking him to 1,445 runs and eight centuries.

That result kept Walsall in trouble, despite remarkable figures of 8-55 for bowler Luke Stynes.

Kidderminster clawed a point back on their rivals, but remain in the drop zone after defeat by West Bromwich Dartmouth.

Amit John’s 103 set up Dartmouth for a total of 252-7 before Kidderminster were bowled out for 180 in 40.2 overs.

Patrick Brown took 3-36 for Kidderminster and Liam Banks took 3-46 for Dartmouth.

A half-century from skipper Neil Pinner (57) was the highlight of the Kidderminster innings.

Zen Malik (89), Matthew Kleinveldt (63) and James Hammond (56no) steered Wolverhampton to 260-8 against Kenilworth Wardens with Matt Hancock taking 4-39 for the Warwickshire side who are now safe from relegation, despite the defeat.

Finlay McCreath top scored with 43 as Wardens were dismissed for 143, with four wickets apiece to Aneesh Kapil (4-34) and Ben Twohig (4-37).
