Ryan Aston v Lee Noble left in doubt
Monday 20th February 2012, 6:00AM GMT.
Dudley’s Ryan Aston was today waiting to discover whether he will get a new opponent for his next fight in Sheffield on March 17.
Lee Noble could be ruled out after the former English light middleweight title challenger was cut boxing at the Magna Centre in Rotherham.
A damaging Saturday night for Noble saw him beaten by late replacement Dee Walsh after four rounds, with blood spilling from his left eyebrow.
The bout was allowed to carry on after the head clash with Noble losing 39-37 and, because of that, the losing fighter will not be subject to a ban.
Noble’s injury was today being assessed leaving his contest with Aston, in front of the Sky Sports cameras at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, in limbo.
Should Noble be ruled out, the search will be on to find a quick replacement so that ‘Tank’ can box as planned on the bill.
