Ryan Aston scores first round KO

Dudley’s Ryan Aston finally scored his first stoppage with a stunning first round KO on the Sky Sports bill in Wigan.

The 20-year-old took just two minutes and 48 seconds to put away Joe Jones at the Robin Park Centre, referee Phil Edwards counting him out before the end of the first session.

‘Tank’ came flying out of the traps on Saturday night and forced Jones onto the back-foot, softening him up with body shots before the killer blow.

A looping left hand over the top put Jones onto his knees and he appeared hesitant in answering the count, forcing the man in the middle to end the fight in the act of rising.

Aston, unbeaten in four, now moves on to the undercard of the next Prizefighter at Wolverhampton Civic Hall in February as a ‘Prizefighter Prospect,’ along with Coseley’s Tommy Ghent.
