Six amateurs in CYP Midlands finals
Saturday 22nd October 2011, 6:00AM BST.
Six Black Country amateurs will get the chance to become Midlands champions and proceed to the Clubs for Young People national finals.
Josh Stokes, Brandon Lee Harper, Naresh Sarota, Carnell Brown, Liam Etheridge and Dillon Rattu are in the regional finals in Hinckley, Leicestershire tomorrow.
Stokes and Harper, both of Wodensborough ABC in Wednesbury, are both in Class C, for fighters born in 1992 or 1993.
Sahota, of Wolverhampton ABC, also competes in Class C with his club-mate Brown in Class B, for boxers born in 1994, alongside Pleck ABC’s Etheridge.
Rattu, representing Wednesbury ABC, is the youngest and sole Black Country representative in Class A, for fighters born in 1995.
Another Wednesbury ABC fighter, Dale Doody, is already through to the national finals via walk over – no opponent to box – as is Walsall Wood’s Mason Holmes, both in Class C.
