Dan Scarr has set his sights on making the first-team at Blues after opening up on his "surreal" move from Stourbridge.

The 22-year-old defender became the latest non-league star to move into the professional ranks when he signed a two-and-a-half year deal at St Andrew's earlier this week.

For boyhood Blues supporter Scarr, it was a dream come true.

"It means a lot, I lived down the road, used to go to games when I was younger," he said. "To have signed as a full-time player with them, I could not have asked for much more really. It's all a bit surreal to be honest."

Scarr, a key member of the Glassboys team which reached the third round of this season's FA Cup, will initially be part of the under-23s set-up at Blues.

He added: "I was sad to leave Stourbridge because I have had some amazing times there. But I will still keep in touch. If I get chance I will still go down and watch them."
