Clark looking to spoil Berg's Blackburn party

Blues go to big-spending Blackburn seeking to build on Tuesday's win over Bristol City at Ewood where new boss Henning Berg makes his homecoming seeking to get off the mark after a point from two away games.

Clark's men will be underdogs at the relegated Premier League side, who are sixth in the Championship and five points and 12 places above Blues. But Clark believes Birmingham must aim for consistency.

"We want to achieve back-to-back wins for the first time this season," said the Geordie. "I think the teams occupying the top six have won three and four on the bounce and it's given them that bit of movement to get to where they are. That's where we want to be and what we want to do."

Clark believes they will face a battle with the crowd as well as the team as they prepare to visit a rejuvenated Ewood welcoming one of its favourite foreign sons.

"The crowd will be different to what they were in the last few games at Ewood because they've got one of their own back who was very popular there," he said.

"The support from the terraces will be very good but it won't be any more intimidating than what we had at Millwall or Leeds."

Curtis Davies (ankle), Nathan Redmond (broken hand) and Leroy Lita (thigh) are all rated 50-50 for the trip.

But Blues welcome back Pablo Ibanez, who could go straight into the line-up if former Albion and Villa defender Davies fails to make it.

Pablo returned to action from a broken foot with 70 minutes for the Under-21s' 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.
