Birmingham manager Chris Hughton has backed his first signing Adam Rooney to bring a 'goal-den' touch to St Andrew's.
Rooney comes to Blues with a reputation as a hot-shot after nearly 50 goals for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, 26 in the club's 2009-10 First Division title win before 21 in the Scottish Premier League, over the past two seasons.
Now the 23-year-old will be looking to convert that strike rate to the Championship, having previously played in English football's second tier for Stoke before loan spells at Yeovil, Chesterfield and Bury.
And Hughton is looking to tap in to the striker's potential after bringing him to St Andrew's on a two-year contract.
The Blues boss said: "What I have seen in him is a good work ethic. He is a lad who is desperate to learn and develop his game.
"He is by no means the finished article but I look forward to working with him. He's started to prove he can be a prolific goalscorer.
"It is a great challenge to him."
