Craig Gardner unsure of Blues future

Wolves target Craig Gardner has admitted his future is unclear as the shockwaves continue from Alex McLeish’s Birmingham walkout.

Gardner is one of four Blues players Wolves are eyeing following relegation at St. Andrew’s.

Sunderland will offer stiff competition for Wolves as they look to replace £20million Jordan Henderson and the Black Cats are understood to have made an inquiry for the former Villa midfielder, who is in big demand after his best season which saw him score 10 goals.

And the 24-year-old revealed he is in limbo while the club is in turmoil, with no manager and several star players set to leave.

He said: “It’s a difficult one and I’m unsure exactly what’s happening behind the scenes and what the board are thinking.

“Like every other player, you have to think of your career. I’ve just had my best season, I felt at home in the Premier League, it’s the best league in the world, and now we’ve gone down to the Championship.

“Where are we going, what are we planning to do? I don’t know.

“It’s not a good start to the summer losing Alex. There’s a cloud over everybody’s head.

“Nobody knows what’s happening. We’ve gone down to the Championship, we’ve lost our manager.

“Are players leaving? Is money going to be spent?”

    The Real Bully Hoo.

I thought it was Birmingham City he felt at home not the PL. What happened to his dream move to the club he supported as a lad?

I’m not saying he’s right or wrong to want a move but perhaps he should have spared everone the load of old pony when he got his’dream move.’

He would be a fantastic signing for Wolves, meaning that we could sell Karl Henry and play Gardner and O’Hara as the first choice pairing with Guedioura and Milijas as cover and competition.

3 What is the problem with Karl Henry ?
A player who always gives his all and when he is not playing we are always overun in midfield.

3 – The only reason we could sell Karl Henry is because clubs want to buy him, and want to buy him because hes a good player.

Who’s the fourth player Wolves are supposedly eyeing? I’m aware of Gardner, Dann and Johnson, but haven’t heard rumours of a fourth?

As ever I agree with you, what a complete parasite this kid is. First a load of quotes about him loving it at Villa, then some baloney about him living the dream at Birmingham. I personally don’t care where he goes as long as it’s not Albion, despite that probably being his boyhood dream if he does.

Liverpool are bidding a lot of money for Liverpool-fan Dann and Johnson £14m? I think we can both discount those two from our target lists.

    6) I would say it is Ridgewell. Not too fussed about him!
People on here who are slating Gardner, obviously do not know the facts? He is a passionate Blues fan and was called in after getting relegated and he said that he would give the club one more year. He was then called back in by the Blues hierarchy – Billy Smart’s Circus – and told they will be selling him. It is not rocket science? Blues are in serious financial trouble. They will sell the big names and are recruiting free transfers. Ultimately, they have no chance of competing with the likes of West Ham or Forest. The former are just about to sign Kevin Nolan.
As for the other side of the city – Lerner and the General. Welcome the Muppet Show!

I bow to your greater football knowledge, if we’d have known you were present during the negotiations we wouldn’t have speculated so wildly.

Not sure how they aren’t capable of competing with Forest though???? Have Forest actually signed anyone?? They’ve the same hierarchy as the last 3/4 years and Blues have the nucleus of a Premiership squad and parachute payments that Forest don’t?

Anyway, enlighten us, how much will Albion have to spend this summer to cling onto their Premiership status and compete with the likes of Wolves? Was it £20m last season you said?

Unless he is forced out Gardner should stay.
He says it was his dream move to his own club.
To no little extent Blues were relegated following Gardner being suspended, as a result of his own ill discipline.
He owes us ‘big time’ as do a number of others.

Why do you think you could possibly snag Dann?

Why would he want another relegation battle? He’s destined for bigger and better things.

I will drive Johnson and Ridgewell to the custard bowl. Both decent but they have a mistake in them – Johnson was shocking without Dann.

Gardner could dive his way to Wolverhampton – he’s demonstrated that unlike the real fans he will never be proper Blues.

What you lot don’t grasp is that whatever happens we will be Blues forever – we don’t moan and gripe – we get on with it. McCarthy knockers take note. He kept you up and fair play to him.
