Jose Angel Crespo leaves Villa for PAOK

Forgotten defender Jose Angel Crespo has called time on his Aston Villa career and joined Greek side PAOK Salonika on a permanent basis.

The 29-year-old made just two appearances his one season at Villa Park, both under former boss Tim Sherwood, and has been out on loan.

He finished the campaign at Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano, who borrowed him from January, and is heading back overseas on a three-year deal.

The former Spain under-21 international has also played for Sevilla and Racing Santander as well as having spells in Italy with Padova, Bologna and Verona.
