But now James Burrows has become a worldwide sensation after his YouTube video slamming the players went viral.

The 32-year-old electrician from Castle Bromwich hit the headlines the morning after Villa's inevitable fate was sealed with a 1-0 loss away to Manchester United on Saturday April 16.

After a few beers to drown his sorrows, James woke up on Sunday and decided to vent his frustration against his beloved club via social media.

Beginning the two minute YouTube clip with 'Good afternoon' before introducing himself, Burrows then comically launches into a tirade against defender Joleon Lescott, who infamously said relegation was now a 'weight off players shoulders' in a post-match interview minutes after the away defeat.

In the video he said: "I've got a little message for Mr Joleon Lescott. So if any of my friends on here have got any links to him, Whatsapp, Twitter, whatever, who want to share this video, please do. Because this is me, publicly, offering him out."

In his message James tells of his vigorous regime, including drinking three raw eggs every morning

Burrows then hilariously goes on to tell the camera about his current fitness regime, which involves drinking three raw eggs at 5.27am each morning, followed by a pint of protein shake and a 10 kilometre run on Wednesdays, 'just to break the week up'.

He ends the video by declaring he wants to bring Lescott down 'a peg or two' before heading into a stance Rocky Balboa would have been proud of.

Joleon Lescott said Villa's relegation was a 'weight off the shoulders' after the club's demotion was confirmed

The clip has gone on to be viewed more than a million times and been shown on America's Fox Sports, The Sport and Lad Bible and in the national press and it has made James a local celebrity, with even delivery men asking for a selfie.

Lifelong Villa fan James, who has been following Villa home and away for 18 years, said: "I can't believe the attention the video has received, it only started out as a bit of fun.

"I woke up hungover after a few beers with the lads following relegation day and wanted to bring a bit of humour to the situation. It was all a bit of a joke but a lot of people thought it was serious offer to Mr Lescott.

"I've been astounded by the amount of views it's had and even now the number is still increasing. I hope it's brought Villa fans a bit of joy in this terrible time and we can bounce back and get promoted next season."
