There is some seemingly positive news coming out of Villa Park, for once.

It comes with the appointments of Villa legend Brian Little as an advisor and ex-FA chairman Brian Bernstien onto the board.

We have been crying out for a representative on the board for a while and I think this appointment of Little is as good as it gets for the fans.

A man who only has Villa's best interests at heart and will add some much needed football knowledge to a board seriously lacking in this since Learner took charge.

In Bernstein, we have a man who has vast knowledge of the English game and who oversaw Manchester City's return to the Premier League and their push to the top.

Only time will tell if these appointments can turn us around, but they are a small steps in the right direction.

As another defeat sinks in, our attention has to turn to who leads the side into the next season and the fight to return to the top flight again.

As much as I believe that manager Remi Garde has been given an almost impossible task in attempting to turn us around when all around him has been a shambles, I'm starting to think the best thing all round might be a clean break.

For him, as much as for us. I do believe that he could give it a good go next season, but I'm worried that he has been tainted by events that have gone on since his arrival at the club.

As much as I like the man, all we fans care about is getting the right choice for the job and this nightmare to end. If that means he has to go, then so be it.
