Arsenal right-back Debuchy – who had also been linked to Albion until Tony Pulis dismissed that speculation this week – could to be allowed to leave this month and Garde has spoken to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger about the possibility of a move.

Debuchy, 30, has made just seven appearances for Arsenal this season and played only twice in the Premier League.

"I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was among those players," said Garde.

But Garde has suffered another injury blow with winger Traore ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a broken foot after he limped off in last week's 3-1 defeat at Sunderland.

Meanwhile, Charles N'Zogbia could be heading for AEK Athens after Garde confirmed he has had enquiries for the winger.

N'Zogbia joined from Wigan for £9.5million in 2011 on a five-year deal.

The boss also confirmed Libor Kozak could still leave despite his substitute appearance at Sunderland while he admitted he is eyeing Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda, although that is unlikely to come to fruition with the player committing himself to his club

And Villa defender Joleon Lescott could be offered the chance to play in the United States, with Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy targeting the veteran.

Galaxy are in the market for a new defender and they've made enquiries about the 33-year-old former England international, who only moved from Albion in September.

He's got 18 months on his contract but Villa may be prepared to let him leave, with their relegation from the Premier League all the more likely.

Defensive cohort Tiago Ilori has also been recalled by Liverpool from his season-long loan at Villa. The 22-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for either club.
