Winger Jack Grealish has been banished to Aston Villa's reserves following the latest controversy in his young career.

The 20-year-old was told to train with the development squad by fuming boss Remi Garde.

It comes after footage emerged of the attacker partying just hours after rock-bottom Villa were thumped 4-0 at Everton on Saturday, their heaviest defeat of the season.

Grealish was pictured in a Manchester nightclub and is also alleged to have been at a Birmingham hotel later in the weekend.

His actions have understandably angered Garde, who has wasted no time in taking action. Grealish's has been omitted for Saturday's crucial home game with Watford.

The nightclub footage is the latest of several unwelcome headlines to have dogged the youngster since he made his breakthrough at Villa last season.

In the summer, he was pictured apparently passed out in the street during a holiday in Tenerife, an incident for which he was fined by the club.

Earlier in the year, Grealish was photographed appearing to inhale nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, from a balloon.

Only last week, Garde warned Grealish he still needed to work hard in order to fulfil his potential and command a regular place in the team.

He was included in Villa's starting line-up at Goodison Park, but was substituted during the second-half of a woeful team display.

Garde, meanwhile, looks set to hand a recall to midfielder Carlos Sanchez as Villa hunt just their second league win of the season against the Hornets.

The Colombian was left on the bench last weekend, but the Villa chief insisted that was due to the amount of travelling the 29-year-old had undertaken during the international break.

Garde said: "I decided not to play him from the start but, when he came in, I was very happy."
