McParland, Villa's match-winner the last time they won the competition in 1957, will be at Wembley to watch the claret and blues take on Arsenal tomorrow.

Tim Sherwood's side are big underdogs, just as they were in '57 against the Busby Babes.

But McParland, who scored twice that day in a 2-1 win, believes they have every chance of upsetting the odds.

He said: "They need to go out there and get at Arsenal, don't give them any room. If you give them room to play, they will, they have to get close to them and make like tough.

"Since Tim Sherwood has arrived they have been positive and that is the right sort of mood. Don't fear the opposition, show them how good you are."

McParland believes Villa will relish the underdogs tag, adding: "They'll will have been hearing all week how they're going to get beat. That kind of thing can spur you on."
