Centre-half Nathan Baker is a doubt for Aston Villa's game at Queens Park Rangers next Monday having gone off in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Everton.

Baker lasted only 26 minutes before he had to be replaced by Ciaran Clark and it appears he has picked up a hamstring injury.

While it's not expected it will keep him out for any kind of lengthy spell, Baker faces a battle to make the trip to Loftus Road to face the Premier League's bottom club.

Boss Paul Lambert said: "Losing Nathan never helped, because I think he's been playing really well. It's his hamstring. It looks pretty bad at the moment and we'll just have to see how it is."

Villa are already without another central defender in summer signing Philippe Senderos, who picked up a thigh injury on international duty with Switzerland.

Meanwhile, striker Callum Robinson has extended his youth loan at Preston North End until January 3.

The 19-year-old striker joined the League One club in September on a 33-day loan which ran until after Saturday's 2-0 victory over Port Vale at Deepdale, where he was a second-half substitute.
