Aston Villa's Chris Herd set for Bolton loan

Forgotten man Chris Herd was today expected to complete a one-month loan move to Bolton from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old Australia international has not kicked a ball for the claret and blues this season and manager Paul Lambert is happy for him to join the Trotters on a temporary basis.

Utility player Herd was an unused substitute in Villa's Capital One Cup defeat to Leyton Orient last month, but has otherwise not been named in matchday squad so far in this campaign.

He made only two appearances last season.
