Andi Weimann hails Aston Villa strike partner Christian Benteke

Aston Villa striker Andi Weimann is relishing another season spent in the company of fellow international Christian Benteke.

Weimann, who has broken into the Austria senior team on the back of his club form, admits he can’t wait to link up again with Benteke when he returns from duty with Belgium.

He said: “We showed last season that we like to play with each other and we carried on like that during pre-season so hopefully we can take that on throughout the season and score a few goals.

“He is a brilliant player, we all know that. I really enjoy playing with him because he is a different type to what I am.

“He is a big target man who can hold the ball up and I like to run around a bit so I think we complement each other really well.

“We don’t really talk about it. Just on the pitch we both know where each other is going to run and that is really good.

“I think he set quite a few goals up too last season – not just for me but for other players. So he can do that as well. We don’t have to talk about his finishing because he scored loads of goals last season.”

Tom

Has anyone else noticed that Benteki always strikes his penalties low to the

goalkeepers right!

Premier goalkeepers are already beiginning to notice.

Benteki needs to vary his spot kicks!!

Sav

I always think teams should vary their penalty taker from game to game, but agree with Tom, we seem to

know where Benteke is gonna place it.....mind you I never watch them (have to shut me eyes, if at the game or

watching it on TV)

Lets hope he gets to take loads this season !!!
