Jores Okore today vowed to be a striker’s nightmare – and never be caught day-dreaming at Villa.
The defender insisted he will not be found napping despite falling asleep during his medical this summer.
Okore admitted he dozed off while having an MRI scan as he completed his £4m switch from FC Nordsjaelland last month.
The 20-year-old helped Villa to their first clean sheet in 31 games in the 3-0 League Cup win over Rotherham on Wednesday and said his eyes are open to the Premier League dangers.
“There’s no chance of falling asleep on the pitch in the Premier League – it’s going too fast. If you give anybody a second then it’s going to be over and they’re going to score,” said the Denmark international.
Villa keeper Shay Given was today linked with a shock move to Liverpool.
The £60,000-a-week Ireland star has been frozen out at Villa Park this summer.
