Darren Bent says Fulham are the only club for him after he quit Villa for Craven Cottage.
The striker has joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan to end a Villa exile which saw him frozen out of the first team.
Fulham will fund his wages for the year and have paid a loan fee of around £2m after Bent turned down the chance to join Crystal Palace.
“It was a frustrating period last season, but I’m here now and glad to be here,” said Bent, who will not face Villa.
“I just had to have one conversation with Martin (Jol, boss) and I knew it was where I wanted to be.
“Crystal Palace were interested and I respect Ian Holloway. But for me at this period and knowing Martin, it was the only place I wanted to go.”
The 29-year-old insisted he is eyeing up a spot in England’s squad for next year’s World Cup should the Three Lions qualify.
“If I’m doing well and Fulham are doing well there’s no reason why I can’t be there,” he said.
