Aston Villa raid Norwich again to sign Jed Steer

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert today launched another raid on former club Norwich after the club confirmed the capture of goalkeeper Jed Steer.

Soccer - FA Cup - Fourth Round - West Bromwich Albion v Norwich City - The Hawthorns

The 20-year-old will join Villa on July 1 once his contract at Carrow Road expires and becomes the club’s sixth summer signing.

He played under Lambert at the Canaries and will join coaches Scott Marshall, Michael Watts and Chris Lorkin who have moved from Norfolk this week.

The England under-19 international made just two appearances at Norwich – both in the FA Cup – and was loaned out to Yeovil and Cambridge.

Lambert said: “Bringing in Jed will also add to the goalkeeping department and helps with everyone pushing one another, learning from one another and making everyone better and wanting to improve.

"You want competition for places throughout the team, which is something we didn't have last season."
