Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert was today confident that the club will be able to hang on to Andreas Weimann after a speculation over the striker’s future.
Contract talks between the Austria’s international and Villa were believed to have hit a snag during the week but Lambert remained optimistic he would stay.
“They are still talking. I’ve spoken to Andi numerous times on certain things. He’s been fine. I think he is really focused on the games here,” said Lambert.
“He’s still under contract. I don’t think he’ll walk away.”
Meanwhile, Villa striker Darren Bent looks doubtful for the clash with City with a foot injury while Lambert will check on the fitness of captain Ron Vlaar over the weekend.
