Charles N’Zogbia today revealed he would be prepared to “hurt people” on the pitch if it meant Villa beat the drop from the Premier League.
The 26-year-old French midfielder inspired the claret and blues to a 2-1 win over West Ham last weekend after he won a penalty and scored a brilliant free-kick.
And N’Zogbia, who limped out of the match with the Hammers after he sustained a calf injury, admitted he would happily stick the boot into Villa’s opponents in their remaining 12 matches in order to help the club preserve their top-flight status.
“I enjoy the physical battle. Sometimes I kick and I get kicked. I’m happy to hurt people too. Sometimes it’s good,” said N’Zogbia.
“That’s football. This one really hurts but it’s OK. But I’m happy to hurt people too! Sometimes it’s good.
“I got a kick at the end on the calf and it was really sore but it’s fine now. I had an injury for six weeks and trained hard to make sure I came back strong and fit.”
Meanwhile, Michael Drennan bagged a hat-trick and Graham Burke also got on to the score-sheet as Villa claimed a 4-0 away win over Sunderland in the Premier Under-21 League.
