The claret and blues surrendered a two-advantage for the third time this season as they drew 3-3 with Everton at the weekend having gone 3-1 up much to Lambert's annoyance.

"Does it drive me mental? Yes it does! Considering the way we were playing at certain times of the game against Everton; I thought we'd been excellent," said the Villa boss.

"From a corner, that's the disappointing thing. Ron Vlaar's lost him, but it's never a blame culture. Everybody knows that. It really frustrates you.

"I think you will look back on it and learn. I think you always do whether you're winning or not. I don't think you ever stop learning in football.

"It's the same if you're winning or losing. You have to take knocks along the way and it's how much you come back from them – it makes you a lot better.

"I think if we can keep going like that then we'll win more than not, that's for sure. That's all you can ask for them and if we can get through this period we'll kick on."
