Alex McLeish: We have to be more consistent
Thursday 2nd February 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Alex McLeish today demanded his Villa’s players turn up for the full 90 minutes after another erratic display saw them battle back to claim a point against QPR.
The claret and blues went 2-0 down after a stunning finish from Djibril Cisse on his QPR debut and an own goal from left-back Stephen Warnock in a frustrating opening period.
Darren Bent’s 100th Premier League goal reduced the deficit on the stroke of half-time before Charles N’Zogbia volleyed home his first in a Villa shirt 12 minutes from time to complete the fightback.
While Villa will feel unfortunate not to have banked all three points after a rousing second-half display, McLeish has called for a greater level of consistency.
“I just couldn’t believe the first-half performance. The goals were a joke,” said the Villa boss.
“It was a pedestrian performance. There was no running off the ball, no imagination, no creation.
“The players responded so credit for their recovery. But I would love to see us play in the first half the way we played in the second half. We have to be at it in every single game. We can’t turn it on and off. “

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.

its all well saying it alex but do something about it,
you had the chance to change the team but failed us again,
same players same mistakes week in week out
got to feel a bit sorry for you in a way, what happened to randy always backs his managers lol
that consistency for you,
just maybe if a couple of players were drop for doing the same things week in week out we might just get a bit more consistency has they say it starts from the top

Look at this clueless mug pretending he knows how to give football directions, i am truely sick of this clampet and his new right-back Alan Hutton! I haven’t been able to watch Villa for most of the year thanks to this clown & Randy Lerner you are even worse for allowing this mug to manage your club, Its time for Villa fans to step up & get rid of Randy Lerner as chairman, how he ever allowed Martin O’Neill to leave is beyond me, O’Neill was the best Villa manager since Big Ron, just look at what he is doing at Sunderland, need i say anymore!
