Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Aston Villa derby ace Agbonlahor has sights on Wolves
Friday 20th January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Midlands derby goal king Gabby Agbonlahor today admitted his crown has slipped slightly but is fired up to help Villa silence the Wolves fans at Molineux.
The 25-year-old forward is renowned for saving his best performances for games against the rest of the region’s teams and has developed a knack of scoring against them.
Agbonlahor has bagged six goals this season but has only found the net once in the past nine games and believes his changing role means he does not get as many chances as before.
“I played a few games without a goal and it does start to worry you a bit, but I got one at Bristol Rovers in the Cup, so that helped,” he said.
“I think, as well, I’ve been playing on the wing a bit more so that’s where you’ve got to create more goals rather than just scoring. If I’m in the side and playing and hopefully creating chances as well then it’s not all about the scoring.
“I think if I’m doing a job on the wing it’s going to be a lot harder to get as many goals compared to if you’re playing up front as that main striker
“Then you can make a lot of runs into the box and get rebounds off keepers and things like that, you get all sorts of goals.
“I think my best tally for a season was 15 or something but I don’t really set goal targets, as long as I get those chances and am not missing too many of them. If I’m still scoring a few and creating a few then I’m happy.”
