Simon Poulsen open to signing for Aston Villa from AZ Alkmaar

Simon Poulsen today hinted he would be open to the possibility of joining Aston Villa but revealed his agent has not made contact with the claret and blues.
The 27-year-old Denmark international’s contract with current Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar expires next year and he could make a cut-price move in the January transfer window.
Alternatively Poulsen, who can play at left-back and in midfield, could leave for nothing next June should he not sign a new deal with the Dutch club and has been linked with a move to Villa Park.
He said: “Aston Villa, what can I say? It’s a beautiful club but I also know nothing about Villa’s interest in me. I’ve only heard that from the media. My agent will only notify me only if there is something concrete.”
