Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Aston Villa comes ahead of England for Gabby Agbonlahor
Friday 21st October 2011, 3:00PM BST.
For a player with pace to burn on the pitch, you would think that Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor wants to do everything at a hundred miles an hour.
It has been well documented that Agbonlahor never saw eye-to-eye with former Villa boss Gerard Houllier and the 2010-11 campaign was a largely unremarkable one, as he struggled for form and fitness.
But the 24-year-old has made a blistering start to this season and, like a number of his colleagues, appears to be thriving under Alex McLeish which, in Agbonlahor’s case, has manifested itself into goals and performances.
Inevitably the eye-catching displays have fuelled talk of Agbonlahor being part of Fabio Capello’s England squad for the European Championships next year.
He said: “I’ve already got three caps which I’m happy with and if more come, then more come. But as I have said before, my first priority is Villa and getting results for the team.”
